Mullaperiyar: TN shuts all spillway shutters

Kumily (Idukki): Tamil Nadu closed all the spillway shutters of Mullaperiyar dam as rains subsided. The water level was 138.50 ft on Saturday. 2305 cubic feet of water was taken by Tamil Nadu when 2324 cubic feet of water flowed into the dam.

The Tamil Nadu authorities informed that if rain strengthens in the catchment areas, the spillway shutters will be opened again. Opening the shutters is only possible when rain strengthens as the water level can be maintained at 139.05 until November 10.
