Students should take risks, think about doing business instead of govt jobs, says Kerala Speaker

Kochi: Speaker A N Shamseer urged students to take risks in life. He said that students should think about starting businesses and starting companies instead of dreaming of government jobs, while speaking at the Summit of Future 2025 being held at Jain University here.
“This is a discussion about the future. Children are the citizens of the future. You have to show the courage to take risks. As politicians, we took risks. We continued with it. The life of a politician is very risky. It is 2025, elections are coming. We have to contest and win. It is a big risk,” Shamseer said.
“Politicians like me are thinking about whether they will get a seat or whether they will win if they get one. There are no political strongholds in Kerala. That is why I said risk. The average student in Kerala aims for a government job. This mindset needs to change. I am an outspoken person. You should start a company, start a business. You should understand that only those who take risks have succeeded in life,” the speaker told the students.
“The new generation needs to learn to regulate the use of water, electricity etc. There needs to be a change in the Indian education system. Our children should become self-sufficient. Studying from 8 am to 2pm is enough. Children should be encouraged to work the rest of the time, said the speaker. The speaker also commented that the system of getting education with the money you earn by working should come into being. Jain University should be a model in this. If that happens, the campus will improve even more,” he said.
The students received Shamseer's words with applause.
