PV Anvar to sit between ruling and opposition MLAs as speaker allows him separate seat

Thiruvananthapuram: PV Anvar MLA, who was ousted from LDF following his public outbursts against the government and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has been allowed to sit as a separate block in Kerala Assembly. Speaker AN Shamseer has sanctioned a separate seat for Anvar in the fourth row, which comes between the treasury bench and the opposition.
Earlier Anvar had said that he would not sit with the opposition. He also said that, if the speaker would not give him a separate seat, he would sit on the floor of the assembly. But, speaker had taken a stand that the seat allowed to him earlier could not be changed.
However, Anvar’s seat was changed from CPM block following the request of CPM parliamentary party leader TP Ramakrishnan. It was moved to the last row behind the opposition MLAs' seats. But, Anvar protested against this decision and gave a letter to the speaker demanding a change in his seating position. Following this letter, the speaker allowed him a separate seat between the ruling MLAs and the opposition MLAs. Previously, Anvar sat beside Kollam MLA M Mukesh, along with other CPM MLAs.
