Kozhikode: Buffalo’s tail found chopped off after disagreement over animal's price

Thamarassery: In an unfortunate incident, the tail of a buffalo was allegedly chopped off after a disagreement over the animal's price. The incident took place in the wee hours on Sunday at Kattippara, Kozhikode.
The buffalo belongs to farmer KT Joseph, a native of Kannanthara. According to Joseph, the attack was carried out by a group of people who had arrived to buy the buffalo on Saturday.
“Three people arrived to purchase the buffalo on Saturday around 3 p.m. As they were not ready to offer an expected price, I did not sell the animal. The next day, my buffalo was seen bleeding and its tail was chopped off,” Joseph said.
He said that the animal’s cry was not heard due to heavy rains and asserted that it was not any wildlife attack.
The person has filed a complaint with the Thamarassery police and an investigation is underway. The injured buffalo was given a vaccine by a veterinary doctor from Thamarassery.
