SilverLine: K-Rail authorities continue talks with Railways; plan interaction with NHAI

Thiruvananthapuram: K-Rail authorities have been continuing their talks with Railways over the SilverLine conundrum. The talks are crucial as Southern Railway has refused to give up its land for the semi-high-speed rail project. 

It may be noted that the Railway Board has instructed Southern Railway to resolve the issues. K-Rail authorities are trying to convince the Railways that the proposed alignment for the SilverLine will be a value addition to the latter’s future pursuits. 

Meanwhile, K-Rail has also decided to have talks with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The talks will happen when the former readies a detailed framework for the project-related land acquisition.
