Municipality staff in Kerala films reel in office, show cause notice issued | Video

Pathanamthitta: Eight employees of the Thiruvalla Municipality, including women from the revenue department, have been issued show-cause notices for filming Instagram reels inside the office premises. 

The Municipality secretary has warned of strict disciplinary action if satisfactory explanations are not provided.

According to the notice, the shooting of the video during office hours, misuse of office resources for this purpose, and subsequent sharing of the reels on social media have allegedly generated negative public sentiment towards the municipality and its staff.

The notice specifies that if responses are not received within three days, action will be taken as per the Kerala Civil Service Rules and Municipal Act. Currently, none of the employees have responded to the allegations.

The staff filmed reels against the backdrop of a song from the Malayalam movie 'Devadoothan'.
