Heavy rush: Relief for Shoranur-Kannur commuters, new passenger train service from July 2

Kannur: Amidst mounting concerns over overcrowding on Kerala's railways, the authorities have unveiled plans for a fresh passenger train service along the Shoranur-Kannur stretch. Scheduled to commence on July 2, the service will operate four days a week, initially for a month, featuring 10 general coaches.
The Shoranur-Kannur train (06031) will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, while the return service (06032) will operate on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Departing Shoranur at 3:40 p.m., the train 06031 will make scheduled stops at Pattambi (3:54 p.m.), Kuttippuram (4:13 p.m.), Tirur (4:31 p.m.), Tanur (4:41 p.m.), Parappanangadi (4:49 p.m.), Ferok (5:15 p.m.), Kozhikode (5:30 p.m.), Koyilandy (6:01 p.m.), Vadakara (6:20 p.m.), Mahe (6:33 p.m.), Thalassery (6:48 p.m.), arriving at Kannur by 7:40 p.m.
The return journey 06032 from Kannur departs at 8:10 a.m., stopping at Thalassery (8:25 a.m.), Mahe (8:36 a.m.), Vadakara (8:47 a.m.), Koyilandy (9:09 a.m.), Kozhikode (9:45 a.m.), Ferok (10:05 a.m.), Parappanangadi (10:17 a.m.), Tanur (10:26 a.m.), Tirur (10:34 a.m.), Kuttippuram (10:49 a.m.), Pattambi (11:01 a.m.), reaching Shoranur by 12:30 p.m.
