Communal campaign unleashed by CPM and BJP failed in Palakkad: Shafi Parambil

Palakkad: The communal campaign unleashed by the BJP and CPM has failed in Palakkad, said Shafi Parambil, MP. He was speaking to reporters after the announcement of Rahul Mamkootathil's victory in Palakkad on Saturday.
"Like the 'kafir' controversy in Vadakara and the newspaper ad ploy in Palakkad, their attempts to manipulate public opinion have failed to bring them the success they hoped for. With this defeat, the CPM should abandon the cheap tricks they resort to during elections. The people of Kerala should be careful and recognise that the voices of both the BJP and the CPM are eerily similar," Shafi said.
"The attention they gain in the media by creating controversies and indulging in character assassination will never translate into votes. They need to realise this. The result in Palakkad is a prime example of this. During the Lok Sabha election in Vadakara, they falsely accused me of being behind the 'kafir' screenshot and asked, 'Will the elections ever end? Will society move forward?' Now, I am turning that question back to them. The brotherhood and unity among the people of Palakkad will continue and move forward in the same way. This is not a land of violence, character assassination, or witch-hunting. Here, people may hold different political beliefs, but they still love and respect each other. The people of Palakkad have made it clear that they will not allow any force to taint that love," Shafi said.
“I had said Rahul would win here, after experiencing the love of people here”, he said.
"The votes for Congress have increased across the constituency. In areas where the votes have gone up, there are no divisions of religion or caste. The power of the people in a democracy must be respected. No one, no false campaign, can defeat the will of the people," Shafi stated.
"The dirty tricks being used by the CPM in Palakkad were masterminded by a minister who camped here and led the operations," Shafi concluded.
