Bekal (Kasaragod): Several people, including children, were hospitalised on Monday after a heavy rush was reported at an event featuring rapper Vedan, held as part of the Bekal Festival.

According to media reports, overcrowding occurred during the programme, leading to multiple attendees experiencing distress. Emergency services rushed those affected to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The programme was organised at a venue adjacent to Bekal Park. Vedan allegedly arrived for the event much later than the scheduled time, by which point a large crowd had already gathered at the location.

Meanwhile, two people who attended the event were struck by a train while crossing a railway track in the area.

Officials have yet to release details on the exact number of injured persons. More details awaited.
