3-year-old dies after falling into garbage pit at Kochi airport

Kochi: A 3-year-old boy lost his life after falling into a garbage pit near the domestic terminal of Cochin International Airport on Friday. 

The deceased has been identified as Ridhan Jaju, a native of Rajasthan. Though he was swiftly rushed to a private hospital in Angamaly, he succumbed to his injuries.

The pit was located in a garden area in front of the airport’s domestic terminal. Rithan had arrived there with his mother. An investigation after his disappearance revealed he had fallen into sewage in the drain.

The child was taken to the hospital around 12:50 p.m. Following the incident, authorities covered the pit with a plastic sheet.
