Tanur: A group of school students raised their red bags and stopped the Ernakulam-Kannur Intercity Express train for fun near Tanur railway station. The students fled when the train came to a halt thinking it was a danger signal. The incident took place on Wednesday at around 9 am.

Within an hour of the incident, the Railway Protection Force officials understood that some students, who had come to Tanur Kattilangadi School to appear for the examinations under the open school system, were behind the incident.

The RPF officials waited at the school until the students finished writing their exam. They identified those who stopped the train through interrogation. As the students were minors, they were released after giving a warning. A team led by Kozhikode RPF officers Shinoj and Mohammad Aslam conducted the investigation.
