SC sets deadline to demolish Kapico Resort in Alappuzha; warns govt of contempt proceedings

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the authorities concerned the demolition of Kapico Resort in Alappuzha by March 28. 

The court also threatened to initiate contempt proceedings against the chief secretary of Kerala if the state government fail to comply with the deadline. 

The counsel for the state government informed the court that the demolition process going on. However, petitioners pointed out that the process is on halt. 

Responding to it, the state government’s counsel told that the process is temporarily on halt due to a pending nod from Coastal Zone Management Authority.
