Thrissur Pooram sample fireworks: Colours and patterns adorn sky

Thrissur: The evening sky of Thrissur was adorned with colours and beautiful patterns as sample fireworks from Thrissur Pooram lit up the sky on Wednesday, ahead of the main event scheduled for Friday.
The fireworks display commenced with the Paramekkavu faction at 7:45 pm, featuring traditional favorites such as 'Kuzhi minnal' and 'Amittu', filling the air with celebratory sounds and painting the sky with vibrant hues and intricate designs.

Following suit, the Thiruvambady faction showcased its samples at 8:45 pm, introducing both traditional and new varieties that stirred excitement among the spectators.

The Paramekkavu-Thiruvambady sections' grand parade commenced on Wednesday morning and will extend until Thursday. At 12:30 pm on Thursday, the opening of the Neithala Kavilamma Thekke Gopura Nada will signal the official start of the Pooram celebrations.

On Friday, all the deities will gather at Sree Vadakkumnathan Temple. Highlights of the event will include 'Madathil varavu', 'Panchavadyam melam', 'Ilanjithara melam', and 'Kudamattam'. The main fireworks of Thrissur Pooram is scheduled for 3 am on April 20.
