Sabarimala devotees required to book online this year; only 80,000 people allowed per day

Thiruvananthapuram: In a latest decision, Sabarimala authorities have announced that pilgrims visiting the temple this season must use only online booking. A maximum of 80,000 devotees will be allowed to visit per day.
This decision was made during a review meeting for the upcoming Sabarimala Mandala-Makaravilakku festival, chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Virtual queue and route options
An option to choose their travel route will be available at the same time of online booking through the Virtual Queue Booking. This allow the pilgrims to pick less crowded paths. Those taking the forest path will have all the necessary facilities available.
Parking arrangements
If vehicle restrictions are needed during peak hours, dedicated parking spots will be set up, and all basic facilities will be provided. Extra parking space is made available at Nilakkal and Erumeli. Repair work on roads and parking areas leading to Sabarimala is expected to be completed soon.
Guest house maintenance
Maintenance of the Sabari Guest House will be completed by the end of the month. The work on the Pranavam Guest House has already been finished.
The meeting was attended by several key officials, including Minister for Devaswoms V N Vasavan, Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan, State Police Chief Sheikh Darvesh Sahib, ADGP Manoj Abraham, S Sreejith, Devaswom Special Secretary T V Anupama, Pathanamthitta District Collector S Prem Krishnan, and Devaswom Board President PS Prashanth.
