Sabarimala gold theft: Who is D Mani? Does he have close ties with Potti; special team to probe

Thiruvananthapuram: The investigation into the Sabarimala gold heist is also being carried out based on information provided by Ramesh Chennithala to the Special Investigation Team (SIT). A special team will probe who is D Mani—revealed by Chennithala and his businessman friend based abroad—is, and his involvement in the Sabarimala gold theft.

According to the statement given by Chennithala, D Mani is a person involved in idol transactions and has links with Unnikrishnan Potti. However, the police have not yet obtained any concrete information about his identity. The investigation will cover his background as well as whether the name D Mani—said to be Dawood Mani—is his real name.

In the absence of clear information from Unnikrishnan Potti and other arrested persons, the authorities are pursuing a parallel investigation based on statements obtained from other sources.
