Thiruvananthapuram: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has recorded the statement of Tantri Mahesh Mohanararu in connection with the Sabarimala gold theft case. The statement reportedly includes details regarding a pooja conducted at a jewellery shop in Bellary. The SIT will submit the investigation report in court on Wednesday.

The SIT sought clarity from Tantri Mahesh Mohanararu regarding the permission granted in 2025 to hand over the Dwarapalaka panels to Unnikrishnan Potti. He has reportedly stated that the permission was granted based on directions from the Devaswom Board.

Approval was also sought to take the doors and wooden panels, but permission was granted to carry out the repairs at Sannidhanam itself, as per his statement. Mahesh Mohanararu has also given clarification on conducting poojas at Govardhan’s jewellery in Bellary. He reportedly said that he would attend poojas whenever invited, and this visit was also on such an invitation.

With the SIT’s ongoing statements and other key procedures in the Sabarimala gold theft case nearing completion, the report to be submitted on Wednesday will include details such as arrests made during this stage of the investigation.
