Kollam: Unnikrishnan Potti, the main accused in the Sabarimala gold heist case, has been granted bail in the Dwarapalaka gold theft case. The bail was a routine legal procedure. The SIT has not yet been able to file the charge sheet in the case, and bail was granted as 90 days have passed without filing.

However, since he has not received bail in the Kattilappally-related case, Unnikrishnan Potti cannot be released from prison and will continue to remain in remand.

The SIT is preparing to submit the interim charge sheet, based on additional evidence gathered during further investigation. Communication regarding this has already taken place with the High Court. The court had extended time for the investigation to ensure a thorough submission when the case reached the charge sheet stage.

Different accused in the case have been arrested in various phases. Since Murari Babu was arrested at the same time as Potti and that his 90 days of remand have elapsed, it is expected that the court will consider his bail petition as well.
