Kannur: When CPI remained silent during the entry of Kerala Congress Jose K Mani faction into the LDF, the opinion of a veteran leader of party has ended up in a whirl of controversy. CPI Control Commission chairman Pannyan Raveendran's son Roopesh Pannyan put up a post on Facebook indirectly mentioning the new ally.

The long note Roopesh posted on Facebook ends with the statement that let this chapter be the first attempt to disagree with the journey in which the Communist party travels with those who only yearn for power and seek shortcuts for the same. The party should not act as a shortcut for them, he said.

The party should not be a puppet in the hands of those who never understand the concept of living as virtuous people like Achutha Menon and Veliyam Bhargavan. Those who join the party for posts of MLA, MP and minister will soon migrate to Congress and BJP, he pointed out.
