Konni (Pathanamthitta): In a concerning development, a rockfall at a quarry site in Payyanamon, Konni, on Monday has left one worker dead, while another is still feared trapped under the debris. Rescue efforts are currently underway to locate the second worker.

According to media reports, the incident occurred around 2 pm while workers were clearing fallen rocks. The massive rock reportedly came loose and crashed onto a Hitachi excavator, trapping workers beneath.

The two trapped individuals are suspected to be migrant labourers from Odisha. Rescue operations are currently underway, with emergency teams working to reach those feared stuck inside.

The authorities have not ruled out the possibility of more people being trapped.
