RJD displeased with LDF's seat sharing agreement, pushes for Rajya Sabha representation

Thrissur: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has voiced its discontent, alleging that communist parties in Kerala are contesting all seats without considering the demands of its coalition partners.

While the RJD is sharing seats with the CPM, CPI and other allied parties in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Bihar, it highlights that in Kerala, the Communist parties are fielding their candidates for all seats without regard for the requests of coalition members.

"Since 1952, socialists have contested in the Lok Sabha except in 2009 and 2019. When we were denied a Lok Sabha seat in the recent election, we demanded a Rajya Sabha seat. In bilateral discussions, the CPM secretary stated they would consider it when the time comes. Now, that time has come," stated RJD State Secretary General Dr. Varghese George.

He further mentioned that during a meeting of state office bearers and district presidents chaired by RJD state president M V Shreyams Kumar, concerns were raised regarding the notable decrease in the Left Democratic Front's (LDF) vote share in the Lok Sabha elections.
