Minister Riyas denies crisis in Kannur CPM, criticises scripted narratives

Kozhikode: Kerala's Minister for Public Works Department, Muhammad Riyas, has refuted claims of a crisis within the CPM in Kannur. Addressing the media, Riyas stated that the party has taken a clear and correct stance on the matter, which has been communicated clearly by the party's state secretary. He added that the district secretariat has also issued a statement on the issue.
He alleged that those making narratives are discussing and creating scripts just like those for films. "People will understand this," he added.
Riyas claimed that there are political parties in this country whose meetings become law and order problems, but no one speaks about that; instead, they are keen to know about a meeting happening in a closed room. Those people who are not even in that room take a different room, write a script, and release it as if they were in the room. The public will surely understand this, he criticised.
Riyas also stated that he does not feel inclined to respond to the criticisms raised by CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam.
