Thiruvananthapuram: The revised results for the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance exam have been officially released, following the High Court’s decision to uphold the single bench order cancelling the previous rank list.

In response, the state government has confirmed it will not pursue an appeal in a higher court. Higher Education Minister R. Bindu announced on Wednesday that the revised rank list, prepared using the original formula outlined in the prospectus, has now been published.

Significant changes have emerged in the new list. One of the most striking outcomes is the sharp decline in representation from students under the Kerala state syllabus. In the top 100 ranks, only 21 students come from the Kerala syllabus, indicating a clear disadvantage for state board students in the revised system.

Students who were in the top positions in the initial rank list fell behind in the revised list. Currently, the first rank is held by Joshua Jacob Thomas from Thiruvananthapuram. Joshua was ranked fifth in the initial list. The second rank is for Harikeshan Baiju from Ernakulam. Emil Aype Zacharia, who was sixth in the initial rank list, is third in the revised list.

“The government introduced an alternative formula to ensure fairness for all students,” Minister Bindu said, “but the court ruled that changes could not be made after the prospectus was finalised.”

With the admission process for B.Tech courses set to be completed by 14 August, the government has chosen to move forward without further legal proceedings.
