Kollam native appointed Bishop at Church of England

Kollam: Munroe Island native Reverend Malayil Lukose Varghese Muthalaly (Saju) took charge as Bishop of the Church of England. 42-year-old Lukose is the youngest person to become Bishop here.

Canterbury Archbishop handed over the crosier to Lukose at a function held in St Paul’s Cathedral in England. Queen of Elizabeth had approved his appointment in November 2021. 

Lukose Varghese was the vicar at St Mark’s church in Gillingham. He completed his studies at Southern Asia Bible college in Bengaluru and Wycliffe Hall in Oxford. His wife is Katy and they have four children.
