Rescued street dog returns to saviour in heartwarming reunion in Kerala

Pinangode (Wayanad): In a touching gesture, a street dog returned to the very people who saved its life. The emotional reunion took place at the Laksham Veedu Colony near the High School Junction in Pinangode, where both the rescue and the eventual bonding occurred.
The dog, which had been in a life-threatening condition with a bone fragment lodged sideways in its mouth, was rescued by Odungadu Naseera, a local resident.
It was on Saturday evening that Naseera noticed the stray dog lying in a weak state near her home. Although she was initially concerned that the dog might bite, she carefully approached it and gently lifted its face. Surprisingly, the dog did not show any aggression. Using a stick, she managed to dislodge the piece of bone stuck in its mouth. The dog then walked away.
However, by Sunday evening, it came back to the Laksham Veedu Colony. When Naseera called out to it, the dog immediately ran towards her, wagging its tail and sitting down lovingly at her feet — a clear sign of gratitude. Soon the dog became friendly to the locals who had shown it such kindness.
In recognition of her compassion, Naseera was honoured on Monday by an Arts and Sports Club in the area. Fittingly, the dog was also present as a silent witness to the event. Naseera was presented with a gift and draped with a ceremonial shawl. Vengappally panchayat members Anwar Sadat and Jasar Palakkal also attended the ceremony.
