Raveendran says order on cancelling pattayams done to target MM Mani

Idukki: The order issued by the revenue department cancelling ‘Raveendran Pattayams’ (title deeds) issued illegally in Munnar has raised eyebrows of former additional tehsildar MA Raveendran who issued it.
According to Raveendran, the move which happened amid the absence of Chief Minister has political motives and is illegal. The order targets MLA MM Mani and CPM’s party office, he said. Raveendran pointed out that there is nothing illegal in issuing the title deeds.
He added that the title deeds were issued to the commoners and not big giants. According to him the move will hit the tourism industry in Munnar.
“Examining the title deeds, even those issued to the land of commoners will further complicate the matters,” he said.
Raveendran asserted that the land issued to the poor was bought by some other people and that is where resort has been constructed. MM Mani is being targeted as title deed of CPI party office was cancelled while CPM party office remains there with title deed, he said.
Raveendran informed that he will pursue a lawsuit over the matter as he is confident about his conduct. According to him, fake title deeds became rampant after his transfer and revenue officials used his seal for malpractices. Once CM returns, he will relook into the matter, Raveendran said.
