Kozhikode: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala stated that the investigation in the gold smuggling case came to a halt after the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is the result of CPM- BJP alliance. M Sivasankar was granted bail as a result of this, Chennithala told the media.

It was proven in the investigation that Sivasankar was guilty of all the charges. Yet why wasn’t his bail application opposed, he asked. Earlier, Sivasankar’s involvement was labelled as the tip of the iceberg. Where is this iceberg now? Chennithala asked.

He also stated that the PSC rank list validity was extended fearing the wrath of the youth over the government’s decision to regularise thousands of contract employees. The decision to regularise temporary staff is a violation of the constitution. It is a huge scam that the government decided to move ahead with this decision despite the opposition from Department Secretaries and Legal Department, Chennithala added pointing out that the beneficiaries are mostly CPM supporters.
