President Droupadi Murmu’s Sabarimala visit: Devaswom Board assures full ritual compliance

Pathanamthitta: The Devaswom Board has informed the High Court that during the President’s visit to Sabarimala, every ritual, tradition and customary practice will be strictly adhered to. They stated that tantric protocols, rituals and heritage practices will all be maintained in arranging the darshan. The Board also told the court that the details of the President’s darshan had been communicated to the tantric authority.

A motorcade will be conducted from Pampa to Sannidhanam. Six vehicles will form the President’s convoy. The Devaswom Board noted that the President’s travel will be in a new off‑road vehicle.

The route to Sannidhanam will follow the Swami Ayyappan Road and the traditional path. The off-road vehicle will undergo a trial run soon, the Board added.

Visit itinerary:

  • October 21 (Tuesday)

At 2.30 pm, the President will depart Delhi on a special Air Force aircraft heading to Thiruvananthapuram. After arrival, a procession to Raj Bhavan, followed by lunch and rest.

  • October 22 (Wednesday):

At 9.25 am, helicopter ride to Nilakkal. At 11.00 am, arrival at Pampa; by 11.50 am, at Sabarimala. After temple darshan, lunch and rest at the Sabarimala guest house. At 4.20 pm, the helicopter departs for Thiruvananthapuram. Once back at Raj Bhavan, dinner and rest.

  • October 23 (Thursday):

At 10.30 am, unveiling of the half‑body statue of K R Narayanan in the grounds of Raj Bhavan. At 11.55 am, proceed to Varkala and then at 12.50 pm to Shivagiri for the centennial celebration of Sree Narayana Guru as chief guest. Lunch at Shivagiri. Later, at 3.50 pm, move to Pala Saint Thomas College grounds. From 4.15–5.05 pm, serve as the chief guest for the Platinum Jubilee of Saint Thomas College, Pala. At 5.10 pm, the helicopter departs for Kottayam. By 6.20 pm, stay at Kumarakom Taj Resort and have dinner.

  • October 24 (Friday):

At 11.00 am, depart Kottayam by helicopter to Kochi. At 11.35 am, welcome at Kochi Naval Airport. At 11.50 am, travel by road to Ernakulam. From 12.10 to 1.00 pm, serve as chief guest at the centenary celebration of St Teresa’s College, Ernakulam. At 1.10 pm, have lunch at Bolgatty Palace Hotel. In the evening at 3.45 pm, depart from Kochi Naval Airport by helicopter to Nedumpashery. At 4.15 pm, take a special Air Force flight back to Delhi.
