Kannur: CPM leader and former Kannur District Panchayat President PP Divya on Saturday dismissed recent media reports suggesting she is dissatisfied with the party's decision to demote her.

In a social media post, Divya clarified that the statements circulating in the media do not represent her views, emphasising that she has not expressed any discontent with the party's actions. Divya, who faces charges of abetment in the suicide of Additional District Magistrate (ADM) K Naveen Babu, was granted bail on Friday.

"The news circulating in the media does not represent my opinion. I have not given such a response," Divya wrote in her post on Facebook. "What I had to say to the media, I already told them yesterday. I am not responsible for other interpretations. As a responsible party member, I speak only on party platforms. I accept the decision taken by my party, and I urge my comrades and friends to dismiss this false propaganda."

Close associates of Divya have revealed that some leaders are concerned about her recent demotion within the district committee, which was reportedly imposed without offering her an opportunity to present her perspective.

Sources said that after returning home on Friday, Divya contacted several party leaders, reportedly expressing her dissatisfaction with the demotion during phone conversations.
