Puthuppally: CPM state secretary MV Govindan stated that the party is not making any tall claims regarding the Puthuppally bypoll, but assured to register a new chapter in the electoral history of the assembly constituency. Meanwhile, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal expressed confidence that Chandy Oommen will win with a whopping majority.

“LDF has a clear political stance. We are not making any tall claims, but are sure to win. People of Puthuppally are increasingly discussing developmental activities, and the UDF is not willing to talk on the issue. The Puthupally bypoll will be eminently an evaluation of the performance of the state government so far,” said MV Govindan.

The CPM state secretary also dismissed the pre-poll surveys in favour of UDF alleging they are scripted, paid promotions.

“Chandy Oommen will script history in the Puthuppally bypoll. Realizing the situation, CPM secretary MV Govindan has already bailed out saying that they are not making any tall claims regarding the election. In this election, several CPM cadres are going to cast their votes for Oommen due to growing discontentment in their party,” said KC Venugopal.

“The dissatisfaction over the Pinarayi-led government will be reflected in the Puthuppally by election results. People of Puthuppally will give a befitting reply to the cheap politics of LDF. The malicious campaign against Chandy Oommen and his wife claiming that the couple did not take proper care of Oommen Chandy in his last days is absolutely disheartening,” the AICC general secretary concluded.
