Police lodge three cases against Rahul Mamkottathil; arrest recorded

Thiruvananthapuram: Three cases have been registered against Youth Congress state president Rahul Mamkootathil, on the charges of destruction of public property. Since Rahul was already on remand, police reached the district jail and recorded his arrest. 

The Cantonment police have registered two cases for trespassing and assaulting police personnel during the secretariat march and one case in connection with the Youth Congress march to the DGP’s office. The action comes as Rahul’s bail plea is scheduled to be heard on Wednesday. Rahul will reportedly be produced in court today for remand in connection with the three cases lodged against him. 

Rahul was taken into custody from his home last Tuesday morning relating to the conflicts that arose during the youth outfit’s march to the state secretariat.
