Police launch 'Operation Grip' to crack down on Arjun Ayanki and associates

Thiruvananthapuram: The Home Department has launched Operation Grip to crack down on Arjun Ayanki and his associates. A 48-hour anti-goonda operation has begun across the state under the leadership of ADGP P Vijayan.

The police have identified goons like Arjun Ayanki who have been challenging the government on social media. Efforts to take them into custody began on Thursday morning. The Kerala Police cyber patrol has also been tasked with monitoring their online activities. Those who glorify gang leaders on social media as heroes are also under surveillance.

Meanwhile, police have intensified their search for Arjun Ayanki, who had challenged the Home Minister and the police.

Six of Ayanki's associates have been taken into custody in Thiruvananthapuram. There are also reports that Arjun Ayanki is in Kochi. Following information that he is staying in the city to seek legal assistance, police surveillance has been intensified in Ernakulam district.

Visuals had emerged of Arjun Ayanki and his group arriving in Edappal. Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident. They were arrested for allegedly providing facilities to Arjun Ayanki to remain in hiding.
