Sulthan Bathery: Police in Wayanad have registered a suo moto case against Bajrang Dal workers after a video emerged showing them threatening a pastor and attempting to assault him. The footage of the incident, which surfaced online, prompted the police to initiate action without a formal complaint.

The incident, which occurred in April, is now being legally pursued under charges including incitement to communal disharmony and intimidation by a group. The video shows Bajrang Dal workers obstructing the pastor’s vehicle and verbally abusing him.

Pastor targeted during visit to tribal colony

The pastor had reportedly gone to Cherukad Adivasi Colony to invite children for vacation classes. It was during this visit that he was intercepted and intimidated. One of the Bajrang Dal workers is heard threatening, "If you enter Hindu homes again, there won’t be just a beating. Your leg will be chopped off."
