Pinarayi Vijayan protects AK Saseendran in Assembly; Oppn walks out

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan defended Forest Minister A K Saseendran in the Assembly on the telephone controversy.

"Saseendran has not done anything wrong. He was involved in an issue between members of his political party. Police have started inquiry into the complaint of the woman. The DGP will check if there are any lapses from the part of the police," he said.

Police will provide additional protection to the woman.

The Speaker denied permission for the adjournment motion moved by MLA PC Vishnunadh, following the CM's reply. The Opposition walked out of the Assembly.

The minister violated the oath, said MLA PC Vishnunadh.

Police are misleading the CM, Opposition leader VD Satheesan said.
