Yuva Morcha leader's murder: PFI activist on the run nabbed after years

Vadakkekad: After years of evading authorities, the police have arrested the second suspect in the murder of Yuva Morcha leader, Periyambalam Manikandan.

The arrested individual is Nazarulla, a resident of Puthiyangadi in Chavakkad. 

Manikandan was fatally attacked on June 12, 2004. Nazarulla is affiliated with the banned organisation Popular Front of India (PFI), which then existed in the form of the National Development Front. 

Nazarulla, who has been taken to Vadakkekad police station, is presently under interrogation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) regarding this matter.

During the trial proceedings, Nazarulla, identified as the second accused, absconded. He is also implicated as the 12th accused in the murder case of Youth Congress leader Naushad.

Previously, the court had handed a life sentence to Khalil, the primary suspect in Manikandan's murder.
