Petrol pump robbery: Main accused who attacked employee with chilly powder nabbed

Mukkam: The prime accused in the case where theft was carried out after sprinkling chilly powder on the face of a petrol pump employee in Nileswaram was arrested. Wayanad native Ansar (25) was arrested from Thamarassery on Monday evening. The other accused in the case, including a 17-year-old, Ashik (Sabith Ali- 21) and Anoop (18) were nabbed earlier by the police. 

The incident pertaining to the case happened on November 17 around 2:30 AM at a Hindustan Petroleum (HP) pump. The gang came to the pump in a car hired from Malappuram with a Tamil Nadu registration plate attached. The group of four proceeded to sprinkle chilly powder on the employee’s face after filling the fuel. They covered the employee Suresh’s head with a dhoti that one of the assailants was wearing and then stole money from his pocket. 

Ansar, who fled to Goa after the incident, was working as a caregiver to a patient in a house there. He was nabbed while returning to Malappuram.
