Thiruvananthapuram: NCP state president PC Chacko's speech criticising Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in harsh language has surfaced. Chacko's criticism comes after the Chief Minister refused to make changes to his cabinet. An audio recording of PC Chacko's speech at the NCP Thiruvananthapuram district leadership meeting has been released, in which he says that he knows how to give a befitting reply to the Chief Minister.

Someone recorded Chacko during the meeting and released the audio publicly.

This criticism comes amid ongoing factionalism within the NCP’s Thiruvananthapuram district committee, particularly between Chacko and former district president Attukal Saji, who has faced disciplinary action in the past. A significant portion of the district committee supports Saji, and after the last meeting, there were numerous criticisms and allegations directed at Chacko.

The district committee meeting, held three days ago, did not yield any official response from Chacko or the committee on the matter. The Chacko faction is reportedly pushing for a cabinet reshuffle, advocating for Thomas K Thomas to replace AK Saseendran as a minister.
