Man stabs wife to death in Pathanamthitta; Father-in-law and sister critically injured

Pathanamthitta: A woman died after being stabbed by her husband in Pathanamthitta. The deceased Shyama, of Anjanikkal house in Alumthara, Pullad, was stabbed to death by her husband Aji. Apart from his wife, he also stabbed his father-in-law Sashi (65) and sister Radhamani (57). Sashi and Shyama both lived with Aji. A family dispute reportedly led to the attack.

The attack took place at around 9 pm on Saturday. Radhamani, who is a neighbour, came running after hearing a commotion at home, which is when she was also stabbed.

After stabbing all three, Aji fled the scene. All three injured were immediately taken to the Pathanamthitta District Hospital. They were later shifted to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital.

The Koipuram police have started an investigation into the incident. The search for Aji, who fled the scene, is ongoing. Aji has caused trouble at home before, and already has some assault cases registered against him.
