Pathanamthitta: Man who murdered his live-in partner taken into custody

Pathanamthitta: Atul Sathyan, who brutally murdered his live-in partner Rajithamol on Saturday night, was taken into police custody. Rajithamol (27), a resident of Keekozhoor, was brutally hacked to death at her residence in Pathanamthitta. It is speculated that the police caught hold of the miscreant in Ranni. Details regarding the arrest haven’t been released yet. It is known that the injured culprit will be shifted to hospital.
Atul Sathyan who hails from Blockupadi and Rajithamol were not legally married but were staying together for some time. However, she recently moved out of the house following disputes. The couple have two children.
Rajithamol was earlier married to another individual. But she had given up the relationship.
On Saturday, Rajithamol filed a police complaint against Atul. According to the Police, Atul stormed into Rajithamol's house at around 8.30 pm with a machete and hacked her. She suffered serious wounds on her neck and head.
Her father Raju, who arrived at the spot after hearing the commotion, suffered injuries while trying to stop Atul. Later, Atul attacked Rajitha's mother and younger sister. Though the injured were rushed to Taluk Hospital, Rajithamol succumbed. It is learned that Raju's condition remains critical, and has undergone emergency surgery. The injured are admitted to Ranni Taluk Hospital.
Atul Sathyan who was booked under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (Kappa) , is a murder and ganja smuggling case accused.
