Passenger rush: Railways allot additional coaches to eight trains

Thiruvananthapuram: In a bid to pacify the rush in the passenger trains running in the state, the railways have granted additional coaches to a total of eight trains. This includes the crowded Vanchinad and Venad express trains as well. Out of the eight trains, additional coaches will come into existence in six trains, starting from Monday.
Meanwhile, all the additional coaches are second class general coaches. An extra coach will be attached to each of the eight trains. The move is expected to provide some relief to the passengers, who are currently having a horrible time travelling in the trains.
Additional coaches will be attached to the following trains
- Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakulam Vanchinad Express
- Ernakulam-Kannur Intercity Express
- Kannur-Ernakulam Intercity
- Ernakulam-Thiruvananthapuram Vanchinad Express
- Kannur-Alappuzha Executive Express
- Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express
- Thiruvananthapuram-Shoranur Venad Express
- Shoranur-Thiruvananthapuram Venad Express
