Palakkad: Nurse suspended for administering wrong vaccine to five-day-old baby

Palakkad: The public health department suspended Charulatha, a nurse at Pirayiri primary health centre, for administering wrong vaccine to a five-day-old baby.
The incident happened on Wednesday (August 17). The nurse had allegedly injected a vaccine to the five-day-old baby that was supposed to be administered after 45 days. In a primary investigation conducted by the DMO after receiving the complaint from the infant’s parents, the nurse was found guilty, compelling the authorities to take action against her. The infant’s parents had also accused the nurse of misbehaving with them.
The baby is under observation in the district hospital now, no health issues have been identified so far.
