Kottayam: Police concluded that the murder of Nithina Mol by her collegemate Abhishek Baiju at the St.Thomas College in Pala on Friday was part of a premeditated plan from the accused. However, Abhishek Baiju has testified that he did not intend to kill the girl and had only bought the paper cutter to threaten the girl.

In the questioning, Abhishek has also testified that the paper cutter he used to slit the throat of the girl was bought from a shop in Koothattukulam.

Abhishek had also revealed that he had sent threatening and abusive messages via phone to the girl and her mother after Nithina distanced herself from him. The investigation will focus on these mobile phones. Meanwhile, Abhishek will be taken to St. Thomas College on Saturday for collection of evidence. Further, the police will collect evidence from Abhishek's house and the Koothattukulam shop from where the accused is said to have bought the knife.

The post-mortem was held at the Kottayam Medical College on Saturday. It was performed by a team led by a senior forensic surgeon and the visuals of procedures will be filmed.  The body will be brought to her house in Talayolaparambu and since there are no facilities, the funeral will be held at a relative's house in Thuruvelikunnu.
