P C Thomas to quit NDA; to merge with P J Joseph

Kottayam: P C Thomas has quit National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and joined the UDF. The P J Joseph faction of Kerala Congress and P C Thomas Kerala Congress faction will align together and will fight in the symbol of cycle ignoring the chair symbol. They will file application to get the cycle symbol for their candidates.

P C Thomas will attend the UDF election convention that is convened in Kaduthuruthy on Wednesday and there will not be any meeting for the alliance. P C Thomas was forced to leave the NDA as the BJP did not offer the promised seat as per the understanding reached with the P C Thomas faction.

The party contested from 4 seats last time but this time no seat was offered. P C Thomas said he was asked to contest from Pala but was unable to enter the electoral fray this time due to personal reasons. He told Mathrubhumi News that the party was not given any seat this time. Seats were offered to a party which entered recently too.

It is learnt that the newly formed party will have P J Joseph as the chairman and P C Thomas as the working chairman. Mons Joseph will become the vice chairman.
