Over 25 cuts on Annamma's body; accused tried to hide weapon

Mulakuzha: Annamma, who was hacked to death by a relative at Mulakuzha in Chengannur on Saturday morning, sustained over 25 cuts on her body. The hands and legs too were found severed. At first, the accused, Rinju Sam, who used to live with Annamma, did not allow police to enter the house. The police suspect if Rinju suffers from mental health issues as he had tried to hide the murder weapon. 

The accused also gave clear answers during police questioning. There are indications that Rinju did not like Annamma staying at their house. According to a statement, a verbal fight occurred at the house regarding the same. He was angry at his parents for letting Annamma stay with them.  

A police team headed by Chengannur Inspector Jose Mathew is investigating the case. 

Following a fight in the morning, Rinju first hit his father with a chair and then attacked his mother. The accused had locked the main entrance of the house.

Rinju's parents used a ladder to jump out of the premises as the gate too was locked. Annamma started living with Rinju’s family last February.
