Youth severely injured after falling between platform and moving train at Ottapalam station

Palakkad: A young man was severely injured after falling between a train and the platform at Ottapalam railway station on Saturday night.

The victim, Latheesh, a resident of Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, is currently undergoing treatment at Thrissur Medical College Hospital.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. when the Kanyakumari-Bengaluru Express train arrived at Ottapalam station. Latheesh, who had purchased a ticket from Vadakkanchery to Salem, got off the train when it stopped at the station.

As the train began to move, Latheesh rushed to get back, but he slipped and fell into the gap between the train and the platform. He was initially rushed to Ottapalam Taluk Hospital for first aid and later transferred to Thrissur Medical College.
