Organ trafficking: Kerala Police nab mastermind from Hyderabad

Kochi: The mastermind behind the human organ trafficking to Iran has been arrested from Hyderabad. Aluva Rural SP Vaibhav Saxena said in a press conference here that the investigation team from Kerala reached Hyderabad and recorded the arrest of the accused, Ballamkonda Ramaprasad. 

Based on the information received from Sabith, who was arrested earlier in the case, the investigation team were able to trace Ramaprasad. Sabith had earlier testified that the mafia was based in Hyderabad.

The arrested Ballamkonda Ramaprasad alias Prathapan hails from Vijayawada. Rural SP Vaibhav Saxena opined that this was a very important arrest in the investigation and crucial information about organ trafficking will be obtained from him. 

The majority of victims of organ trafficking are from Hyderabad, with some also hailing from Tamil Nadu. So far, only one victim from Kerala has been identified in connection with this illegal trade.
