Onam holidays: Special train from Chennai to Kannur; Kannur–Bengaluru service also announced

Chennai: Considering the heavy rush of passengers during the Onam holidays, Southern Railway has announced special trains.

A special train (06009) will run from Chennai Central to Kannur on August 28. The train will depart Chennai Central at 11:55 p.m. on Thursday and reach Palakkad at 9:32 a.m. and Kozhikode at 11:50 a.m. and Kannur at 2:00 p.m on Friday. Reservations for this train opened on Wednesday morning.

Another special service (06125) will run from Kannur to Bengaluru on August 29, departing from Kannur at 11:30 p.m. Friday and reaching Bengaluru by 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The return train (06126) will leave Bengaluru at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and reach Kannur at 7:15 a.m. on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Kollam–Tambaram daily train (16102) will have revised timings from September 1. The train, which currently departs from Kollam at 12 noon, will now leave at 4:00 p.m. and arrive in Tambaram at 7:30 a.m. the following day.
