Onam festival allowance increased for ASHA, Anganwadi workers: Details inside

Thiruvananthapuram: Finance Minister KN Balagopal has announced an increase of Rs 250 in the Onam festival allowance for contract and scheme workers across the state.
The allowance for ASHA workers has been raised from Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,450. Anganwadi and Balawadi helpers, as well as aayas will also receive Rs 1,450 each. Pre-primary teachers and aayaas are set to get Rs 1,350, while Buds school teachers and staff, palliative care nurses, Mahila Samakhya Society messengers, and Kishori Shakti Yojana school counsellors will receive Rs 1,450.
Midday meal workers in schools will be granted Rs 1,550, and preraks and assistant preraks will receive Rs 1,250 each. Teaching and non-teaching staff in special schools will also get Rs 1,250.
SC-ST promoters, lifeguards in the tourism department, and home guards under the Home Department will receive Rs 1,460 each.
The minister added that all workers who received the festival allowance last year will be eligible this year as well, with Rs 250 increase applied uniformly.
