‘Official documents stolen from Kerala House’; complaint filed with Delhi Police

New Delhi: A complaint has been filed with the Delhi Police alleging that official documents from the legal department of Kerala House were stolen. Shanmuvathy, Deputy Secretary of the legal department, lodged the complaint with Tilak Marg Police. The complaint alleges that Additional Law Secretary Grancy TS stole the documents.

The main allegation in the complaint is that the attendance register of the legal department at Kerala House has gone missing. Grancy, who was heading the legal department at Kerala House as Additional Law Secretary, was transferred to Thiruvananthapuram on August 5. The complaint states that the transfer was ordered citing serious dereliction of duty, among other issues.

However, the complaint alleges that after the transfer order was issued, Grancy entered the legal department office several times without permission.

The attendance register of the legal department is currently missing, the complaint states. The Deputy Secretary has expressed suspicion that Grancy may have taken the register. The complaint also states that Grancy had sought the handover of certain files and affidavits, but they were not provided. It was explained that the documents were not handed over as there were instructions to that effect, including from the Resident Commissioner of Kerala House.

In her complaint, Deputy Secretary Shanmuvathy has also alleged that Grancy forcibly entered the office, threatened to kill her and her family, attempted to physically assault her and spat at her.

The complaint has sought legal action by the police, stating that there is a possibility of further theft of official documents from the legal department at Kerala House.

The legal department at Kerala House houses several important documents relating to cases concerning Kerala before the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court and various tribunals. The latest developments have raised concerns over the security of these records.

Senior officials at Kerala House have informed the heads of the Law and General Administration departments in Thiruvananthapuram about the situation. However, government sources have not officially responded to the matter.
