Not all anti-SilverLine protesters are against the Left: CPI assistant secretary Prakash Babu

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI has once again come out against the LDF government in the ambitious SilverLine project. Party assistant secretary Prakash Babu on Friday said that the government must 'correct' some of its actions.
He criticised the officials for their 'hasty moves'. Why are they rushing it? The project can be implemented only after addressing the concerns of the people. Not all those who oppose are against the Left, he said.
Babu added that the actions of some of the officials are worrisome. CPI feels that the project must be implemented after addressing the concerns of people and conveying the stand of government in the environmental and social impact studies, he said.
CPM has snubbed the protests as politically motivated. Ministers and party leaders said vested interests are involved in the protest against the SilverLine project.
