Samuel Jerome was mentioned in the Malayalam media and international media, including the BBC, as the lawyer in the case.
However, Mehdi claims that Samuel Jerome is not a lawyer, but the person given the power of attorney as the representative of Nimisha Priya’s family in Yemen.
Moreover, Mehdi says that Samuel has not made any significant intervention in this case so far, and that he had not contacted them for any mediation discussion. Jerome had neither called them nor even sent a text message.
Notably, Mehdi alleges that he first saw Samuel in Sana'a after the president of the Supreme Political Council approved the death sentence, jubilantly congratulating him.
Mehdi alleges that all other claims made by Samuel in this case are false, that Samuel has received a lot of money, including the last $40,000 he received in the name of coordinating mediation.
Mehdi accused Jerome of trading in his brother's blood.
